How Does 3 Victorian Short Stories Create Tension And Drama?

How is emphasis and drams created in the Victorian footling stories you pick up submit?

Over the past few weeks we have been studying ternary Victorian ghost stories. Each story is a short story and creates tension and drama. The three stories we looked at were; “The Red inhabit” by H.G. Wells, “The Signal valet” by Charles Dickens and “The Tell Tale pith” by E.A. Poe. The first story we looked at was “The Red way”.

When we first hear the name of the title ‘the Red path’ the first thing that comes to our minds is that it is alliteration. He does this to make the story get going interesting and gives it a good start. When people think of redness they usually think of blood, which makes it sound spooky and scary. If you put them together it’s making the story sound like a mystery and showing that something in this room is bad, and it makes the proofreader hope to find out what actually is so bad slightly it.

To create tension and drama H.G Wells uses first person. He uses this throughout the story, for example; ‘Eight and twenty years’ say I, ‘I have lived and never a ghost have I seen as yet.’ He uses first person because it is making the man sound arrogant and soon he leave behind get what’s coming to him.
