Ralph Goings, born May 9th, 1928 in Corning, calcium, is acknowledged to be one of the most adroit and subterfugeful artist in the photo-realist movement. Goings is known for his exceptionally realistic moving pictures of diners, pick-up trucks, and California banks. Photorealism is a crime syndicate of painting in which tools such as a tv camera or photo are used to capture an chassis of e genuinelyday life. The artist then converts the image onto a plane or sometimes the traditional grid technique is used. Ralph Goings workplace has been in multiple solo and group order of battles held both in the United States and abroad, dating from 1960-2005.
In 1953 Ralph Goings received his B.F.A. (Bachelor of Fine Arts) from California College of Fine Arts and Crafts in Oakland and later received his M.F.A. at Sacramento State College. Goings tried abstract drawing very briefly but he soon realized that it wasnt going to nearly fulfill his adulation for art. In 1963 I wanted to start Painting again but I decided I wasnt going to do abstract pictures. It occurred to me that I should go as far to the opposite as I could. ... It occurred to me that supporting and tracing the pic instead of copying it original would be even more shocking. To copy a photograph literally was considered a bad thing to do.
It went against all of my art school training… In 1969 he attended an exhibition called Sacramento Views where it was he discovered his love for photographing pick-up trucks, shooting slides in a local parking lot. It was then he photographed and pied his first pick-up truck called Blue Chip (1969), generating his eminent serial publication of pick-up truck paintings. It was also this series where he mastered his painting technique in both watercolor and oil.
