Cliques were quite common in my high school. The school milieu causes natural polarization of peoples with similar backgrounds, attitudes, or any early(a) factors that would form certain peer groups, or cliques. The largest clique was the athletic clique. There atomic number 18 many different athletes, there be those who play sports for fun , those who play casually, and those who play hoping to nourish a scholarship to college.
Firstly, there are those who really dont care most earningsning the game or about winning in general. Easily recognizable by the fact that: they drag their feet when they bye and mope around with a glazed look on their faces. They take their time getting to the other end of the hook to get the rebounds.
Secondly, there are those casual players that would like to win, further they dont treat the game too seriously. They dont get overly emotional when they miss the overtime shot to win the game.
Thirdly, there are those who play only to win and leave alone settle for nothing less.



The futures of the athletes are at stake. Many of them are playing hoping to get scholarships for college. The athletic scholarships require rigorous reverence to school work as well as athletic performance. Long hours are required for practice and games, and athletes have to capture all of this with their studies.
Given the importance of sports in adolescant social development, its not surprising that the Athletic clique is one of the largest in my high school.
