Identify Group Counselor's Traits

I was a little confused on who the groupinging instructor/counselor was due to the active participation of the clients. I mainly couldnt tell if it was the older peppered whisker staminate or the older red head female. After exhibit it twice, I figured out the older gentleman with the peppered hair was the counselor. I began to notice the five traits that you are asking us to describe and identify with him. Those traits made him stand above the sr. red head lady and clarified who was the counselor. Based on the five attributes he sustains throughout the video he had reliability, responsiveness, trust, strong identity, and fallibility.

The counselor sustained reliability by allowing all group members to express themselves freely and reachly. He was fair, not judgmental, and he didnt cut them off while they were speaking. He applied no pressure and allowed everyone to express their feelings and opinions, because of those actions the group felt pleasant, trusting, and willing to open up. He also continuously included everyone and did not take off to chance anyone feeling left out. For example at the close of the session he asked everyone what they would like to work on and how comfortable they felt. He gave everyone a chance to respond.

The counselors responses show his active listening.



You can tell he listened to each soul fully and undistracted. His responses were relevant and valid. He never voiced his feelings, his thoughts, and his spot on any matter. His approach and responses were firm, direct, and clear. When this video clip undecided a girl was addressing her trust issues and her putting up walls in personal relationships. The counselor asked her where and when in the relationship does she began to put up these walls. Based on her response you can determine the immenseness of addressing that detail. She was realizing her pattern of self sabotage.
