The imbalance of knowledge distribution can change the levels of motivation and the ability to complete specific tasks within the workforce. This study identifies the factors that contribute to high turnover in distribution and third party logistics (3PL) organizations, specifically in terms of how turnover relates to dynamics such as knowledge distribution in an organization. The 3PLs are the essential or fundamental highest levels of knowledge distribution to that can complete tasks. At the same time, there are gaps within the knowledge distribution, which leads to higher levels of organizational turnover (Fugate and Stank, 2009).
