At the end of the picture show when time switches back Donnie lies smiling in his bed, waiting for the jet engine to crash into his room. He knows hes closely to die, but hes still happy because this charge he will never meet Gretchen and she wont die.
B.If I want to enjoy watching a movie, I need to understand the movie. While I was watching Donnie Darko I didnt understand everything and that bothered me. The beginning of the movie is non very difficult but along the movie, the story gets more than complicated and unrealistic. So then you have to start mentation about what happens with Donnie and what time travel and faith has to do with that. So I didnt enjoy the movie very ofttimes because I had to think a lot to understand the story.

Donnie Darko seems to be a regular teenager. He has ordinary family and ordinary friends. At least people think hes a regular boy but his imaginary friend, the big scary bunny Frank, is everything but ordinary. Frank can show up anywhere, anytime. Frank tells him what Donnie should and shouldnt do. He has Donnie complete in control.
