Hunters and gatherers learned how to grind these cereal grasses/wild grains to make food. over time the hunter-gatherers discovered that seeds from the grains could be replanted to grow more wild grain. Thus the cultivation of plants began.

Around 8900 BCE the first signs of animal vapidity became evident. Goat domestication first occurred in the Zagros Mountains in southwest Asia. Pigs were first domesticated years later around 7000 BCE, and by 6500 BCE the domestication of animals was widespread through out earth.



This increase in food production helped newborns survive past infancy, which helped populations expand and change magnitude human settlement. The production of food helped humans to be able to supply themselves with enough food to feed off of which in like manner developed economic specialization and helped form social, political and religious hierarchies.

The first food producing communities appeared in Southwest Asia. The Cultivation of food started in three separate areas, Archaeologists called the first area The Levantine Corridor (Fertile Crest), the second area was the land North of Mesopotamia and the base of the Zagros Mountains, and the leash was Anatolia.
