Operant Conditioning
Operant condition is a way to learn due to punishment or respect as a result. Through operant instruct, an association is do between a mien and a consequence for that behavior, (Cherry, 2011). This conditioning is sometimes quotered to as instrumental conditioning or Skinnerian conditioning. Skinnerian conditioning comes from B.F. Skinner a behaviorist that canvass internal thoughts and motivations and tried to find ways to use them to explicate different behaviors. Skinner used the term operant to refer to any active behavior that operates upon the environment to generate consequences, (Cherry, 2011). Operant conditioning is a reward that strengthens or develops more of the behavior that comes after. There are two reinforcers, a positive reinforcer and a controvert reinforcer. A positive reinforcer would be like a reward that was given due to upright behavior such as a pay outgrowth, a sweet snack or a fun day. A negative reinforcer would be something being removed due to a behavior. Than for punishment there also is a negative and positive punishment. A negative punishment, also known as punishment by removal, occurs when a favorable event or outcome is removed after a behavior occurs, (Cherry, 2011).
A positive punishment sometimes referred to as punishment by application, involves the presentation of an unfavorable event or outcome in order to weaken the response it follows, (Cherry, 2011). An example of operant conditioning would be like giving a child silver for a good school report card to increase that behavior in the future. Operant conditioning could also be used to diminish a behavior, for example taking a childs favorite toy away for shout out at its sibling.
Negative and positive reinforcement are both there for the same reason and for the same results. This is to increase and decrease ones behavior. Both forms of these reinforcements are effective in their own ways....If you fatality to get a full essay, order it on our website: Ordercustompaper.com
