May 9th 2012 N. Ezgi Bayraktar MKTG 418 Tuna Çakar Neuromarketing: Revolutionary, Complementary or Inspirational? As we came across and discussed in class various times, the concept of neuromarketing is gainsay due to the conflicts it raises. The main reading material we had was Buy-ology by Martin Lindstrom. In this book Martin Lindstrom explains an experiment he did which he defines as the largest, some revolutionary neuromarketing experiment in history. The experiment was piloted because Mr. Lindstrom valued to deduce why consumers were drawn to specific brands and/or products. It was nearly the smoking habits and Lindstrom said it was necessary to examine participants brains in baseball club to get to the bottom of the sorts of consumers. Martin Lindstrom is one of those who conceive neuromarketing is revolutionary. However in my opinion I believe neuromarketing bottom only if be a part of the traditional marketing system as a complementary subject/ method. Yes, brain activities can reflect how we feel, react or impart however we are also capable of building a wall to the world and preventing ourselves or even train ourselves to not show any feelings; even in our brain activity.
